Description

Standard Costs can be used in many ways, such as WMS Professionals Cost plus pricing method and stock valuations. For this reason bulk updates of standard costs in MYOB may be required.

Detail Steps

MYOB

  1. Ensure you are the sole user of MYOB (File → Active Workstations)
  2. Click File, Export Data, Items
  3. You only need to match 2 fields: Item Number and Standard Cost, the latter being near the end of the MYOB list of fields (scroll down), however you may export all fields if you prefer.
  4. Click export(you may have to select a location to save and file name).

EXCEL

  1. Open the Excel File
  2. After making changes to selected item ‘standard costs’ reformat the value column to numeric with no currency symbol and no ‘000s’ separators.
  3. Save the excel file in ‘txt’ format. Make a note of folder destination.

MYOB

  1. Ensure you are the sole user of MYOB (File → Active Workstations)
  2. Make a backup of the MYOB data file
  3. Click File, Import Data, Items (you may have to navigate to saved txt file location above)
  4. Change Duplicate records option to ‘Update Existing Record’
  5. Continue, and locate your saved excel (txt) file, click open.
  6. You only need to match 2 fields: Item Number and (new) Standard Cost, the latter being near the end of the MYOB list of fields (scroll down)
  7. Click import, check error log. Check MYOB.
