Description
This guide explains how to deactivate, transfer, and activate a Mobility license for Velocity on a new Android device. This is required when moving from an old or faulty handheld device to a new one, ensuring proper license reallocation.
Detail Steps
Clear Existing License Data on the Old Device
If the old device is still operational, follow these steps to remove its license before assigning it to a new one:
On the old device, go to Settings > Apps (or Application Manager).
Scroll and select the Mobility or Velocity app.
Tap Storage.
Tap Clear Data.
➤ This action clears the license information and resets the app.
Add the New Mobility License on the New Device
Launch the Mobility app.
Navigate to Host Profiles.
Enter the following:
Licensee Name
Serial Number
Expiration Date (format: MMDDYYYY)
Authorization Code
User Limit
User Number (e.g., 1, 2... up to your license limit)
Tap Add License.
The app should now be licensed and ready for use on the new device.
(If Clear Data Doesn’t Work) – Uninstall and Reinstall the Mobility App
If clearing data does not reset the license, follow these steps:
Uninstall Mobility App
Go to Settings > Apps.
Tap on Mobility or Velocity app
Tap Uninstall and confirm.
Reinstall Mobility App
Open the Google Play Store.
Search for Ivanti Velocity.
Tap Install.
Once installed, launch the app.
This will fully reset all app data and release the license from the device.
Common Error & Fix
Error: “There was an error with the user number.”
Solution:
Make sure you're not using a User Number higher than your license allows or User Limit.
Ensure the license is removed or reset from any previous device.
Reboot the new device after reinstall if the issue persists.
