Changing to the MYOB Codes.

Updated over a week ago

Description

This article describes how to make the change to the MYOB codes that have been/have not been used in MYOB.

Detail Steps

Workflow Restriction

Ensure all sales, purchases BoMs etc are at the current live status, however there should be no on holds as this will cause issues with stock adjustments after changeover.

Making change to the MYOB codes that have been not used in MYOB.

Step 1: Turn on inventory check box and select cogs account.

Step 2: Replicate maintenance.

Step 3: Manually (via DB) remove the force Inventory tag.

Step 4: Send a stock reconciliation to MYOB (Check your costing option for adjustments - most commonly used for this is last cost.)

Step 5: Change stock rec transactions to bills and adjust/write off. Adjust accounts as required for the accounting side in MYOB (you can create an item code for reducing the expense account used for the goods when they were bought initially (enter the code in negative in the PO) and the Positive PO lines increase the COS/COG account) so that’s the double entry.

Making the change to the MYOB codes that have been used in MYOB.

Step 1: Add reference to the item codes that will be changing in the MYOB item code such as prefix with ZZ.

Step 2: Create new item codes in MYOB using the same codes as you had before but inventoried.

Step 3: Replicate on maintenance mode.

Step 4: Process stock adjustments in WMS from old code to new and send to MYOB. Enter the out going cost from old item onto the line of the new item in the adjustment.

Step 5: Change all the existing POs, BoMs and pending sales to the new codes by removing the “zz”.
