Description

The following support note describes general information about using the CloudWMS.

Detail Steps

Auto Log Out

For security reasons your WMS will logout after;

  1. Any change in network connection including internet disruption or latency > 100ms.

  2. Internet browser enforcing sleeping tabs and resource saving, disconnect will show on returning to the WMS Tab.

  3. 60 minutes of inactivity on the main WMS screen.

  4. The inactive limit set by your administrator in Options, Preferences, Company Tab.

  5. During planned scheduled maintenance (always notified in writing to your account administrator).

  6. During an unplanned service disruption (please report all service disruptions to [email protected])

Is your browser feeling sleepy?

If you leave your WMS browser tab open but untouched for a period of time your browser might be putting your tabs to sleep or saving resources - this might disconnect your application on return to the Tab;

Sleeping tabs normally become dimmed or greyed when the browser puts them to sleep.

We have found that if user sessions fail to stay connected it may assist to use the WMS application in a different browser for example if your normal browser is Chrome, try using Edge for the WMS application only, in single window with no other tabs to prevent sleeping tabs.

We also recommend limiting the use of the minimise and maximise buttons in your browser, leaving your browser manually sized or maximised. Keep the window behind any window you need to work on.

Recommended Settings for Chrome Users Experiencing WMS disconnects when returning to an inactive tab within 60 minutes.

  1. Chrome users can add an exception to their browsers which may assist, click the link to view a video on how to process this change ChromeSleepingTabsException or find these setting in Chrome, settings, performance tab, turn memory saver off and add the address https://*.datapelwms.net
    โ€‹

  2. Edge users can add an exception to their browsers which may assist.

    1. In Microsoft Edge, open the Settings and more menu by clicking the three dots in the upper right corner.

    2. Select Settings and then choose System and performance. You may initially see settings for your personal Microsoft profile, but you can access browser settings by clicking the three lines next to the word Settings to activate the dropdown menu.

    3. Within the System and performance menu, scroll down to Never put these sites to sleep. Click add and enter the address [*.]datapelwms.net

If you are experiencing a performance issue

If you notice an issue with overall general performance, please follow the below steps.

  1. Check your general settings, some settings can cause registers or searches to load too many records. The optimum settings can be found here > preferences. If this does not resolve your issue, please move to the next step.

  2. Take a note of your internet address, for example "app-0-000-00-000.datapelwms.net"

  3. Exit the application and start a new connection to https://app.datapelwms.net/

  4. Take note of the new address. The address should have changed and in most cases the issue will be resolved.

  5. If the issue remains, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible providing both addresses for quickest resolution.

If the performance issue only affects one area of your application.

  1. Take a note of your internet address, for example "app-0-000-00-000.datapelwms.net"

  2. Please contact [email protected] as soon as possible providing the internet address, login email address affected or advise if all affected users are affected by the issue and the steps, or affected workflow.

Using more than one WMS company simultaneously

If you access more than one CloudWMS;

  1. Using two WMS connections in the same browser window will cause the software to stop responding.

  2. Please use a different internet browser for your second connection (for example use Edge for connection 1 and Chrome for connection 2).

  3. If you have only one internet browser available, use a new window rather than a new tab.

Workflow Restrictions

  • Article only valid for users accessing the CloudWMS via https://app.datapelwms.net/

  • Inactivity is defined as no mouse or keyboard activity on the CloudWMS browser Tab

  • The 30-minute timeout does not validate if you are accessing a data record such as a sale, item or other activity. The System wide company option of timeout will still be valid and may result in the need for User Lock Removal.
