            Troubleshooting Hidden or Unresponsive Report Viewer & Design Form Windows

            When generating or editing document layouts (such as Packing Slips, Invoices, or Pick Slips) in Datapel WMS, clicking Design Form or previewing a document may cause the screen to momentarily disappear or seem to close automatically.


            In most cases, the Report Viewer / Design Form window has opened successfully, but it is minimized or positioned off-screen behind the main application window.


            Step-by-Step Instructions

            1. Trigger the Report / Design Form View:
            Step 1.

            Navigate to the relevant transaction record (e.g., Sales Order or Invoice), select the Attachments or Documents tab, and double-click the document (such as Packing Slip). Click the Design Form... button at the bottom left of the Report Manager screen.


            2. Bring the Active Window Menu Focus:
            Step 2.

            Immediately after clicking Design Form, press Alt + Spacebar on your keyboard. This opens the hidden Windows application menu for the currently focused window.


            3. Maximize the Design Form Window:
            Step 3.

            Press X on your keyboard (or select Maximize from the popup menu). This forces the Design Form editor into full-screen view.


            Multi-Monitor / Off-Screen Issue

            If pressing X does not reveal the screen, the window may be positioned off-screen. Press Alt + Spacebar, press M (Move), use the Arrow Keys on your keyboard to slide the window back onto your main screen, and press Enter.


            How to verify success: The full Report Designer window should now occupy your screen, allowing you to edit form fields, ship dates, logos, and layout text.
