Changing COGS in Close Sale

Description

This support note explains how to change cost of Goods sold on a closed sale in WMS and MYOB.

Detail Steps

How to update in MYOB

Let’s assume you send a sale order to MYOB and the cost that MYOB use is $47.80 (Average cost) and now you want to change this.

Let’s assume cost should be $77.21.

Delete above MYOB sales order.

Then make the adjustment to correct the item value.

Then the cost will changed to below.

Resend the sales order again from WMS. now MYOB will use correct cost.

How to update the cost in WMS

  1. Go to Tools > Preferences > General tab > tick.

  2. Open Closed sale order, click on the item line.

  3. Type the Unit Cost > Enter > Update sale order.

    Now all WMS reports will also use updated cost.

Workflow Reminder

Unlike all other Preferences, the General Preferences are controlled and set Individually by each Users via their own username login.

After enabling the option "Use Extended Lines for Sales to Purchasing"

  • For Superuser and users with "Administrator" privilege, sales order will show "Update Sale Order" at the bottom.

  • For users with "User" privilege, sales order will show "Print Sale Order" at the bottom.

  • Both "Update Sale Order" and "Print Sale Order" works the same to display print out and update the order.
